Marvel Midnight Suns Launches for PS4 and Xbox One on May 11; Switch Port Canceled

Firaxis Games announced that it is now canceling the Nintendo Switch version of Marvel Midnight Suns, and also announced that the games won’t be getting physical releases for PS4 and Xbox One, and will only be available digitally, with all of its four DLC components available if players purchase the Legendary Edition, or Season Pass when the game launches on May 11.

The developers didn’t attribute any reason for the Switch version being launched, though many speculate the reason to be Firaxis not having enough resources to allocate to a Switch port, especially when the game underperformed as admitted by Take-Two’s CEO Strauss Zelnick in an interview with Jason Schreier.

While the cancelation of a Switch port is disappointing, players on other platforms can also pick up the upcoming Blood Storm DLC, which will also be available on last-gen consoles.

About Marvel Midnight Suns

Marvel Midnight Suns is a turn-based tactical role-playing game featuring the Marvel heroes that form the Midnight Suns team. When Lilith and her demonic children invade the earth, you, the Hunter enlist the help of other superheroes that are drawn to the occult to fight against them. Each of them is granted supernatural powers alongside their abilities, allowing them to fight against demons.

Midnight Suns plays as a tactical RPG, similar to Firaxis Games’ other title, Xcom. Each character can draw from a set of abilities from cards, dealing damage and triggering unique effects to swiftly take down several enemies at once, and dominate the battlefield.
