While the Jing Yuan banner will be arriving on Honkai: Star Rail a week later, HoYoverse started streaming an animated short “A Flash” featuring this highly anticipated character. The 4-minute animation centers on the past of Jing Yuan, the general of the Xianzhou Luofu, and features his battle against his former master Jingliu, who was afflicted by the mara-struck.
Fantasier Animation co-produced the new animated short alongside South Korea-based Studio ppuri. HoYoverse’s HOYO-MiX team handled the animated short’s original score.
As for in-game. the “Swirl of Heavenly Spear” banner featuring Jing Yuan is scheduled to go live on May 17 and runs until June 7, 2023, as the second and final major banner in V1.0.
Jing Yuan will also be featured on the cover of the Japanese fashion magazine anan, released on May 10, together with a 10-page special coverage highlighting Dan Heng, Blade, Yanqing, and Luocha.
Honkai: Star Rail is available now for free on Android, iOS, and PC via Epic Games Store. PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 versions are in development with no confirmed release date.
