Developed by Aniplex and f4samurai, mobile RPG Puella Magi Madoka Magica Side Story [Magia Record] (マギアレコード 魔法少女まどか☆マギカ外伝) is now released after several postponements. The game is a spin-off of original TV anime series Puella Magi Madoka Magica (魔法少女まどか☆マギカ).
▍Background
Magia Record runs parallel to the anime’s universe and introduces new characters that have never been included in the show. Tamaki Iroha, a magic girl who goes to Kamihama Shi to look for her younger sister, finds many other magic girls in the same city. It seems like the mysterious place contains a strange power called Doppel. They are then determined to find out the truth behind it.
▍Gameplay
Magia Record is made up of three stories. The main story revolves around the protagonist’s (players’ character) adventure while the spin-off story and the magic girls story focus on characters from the anime. AP is consumed for each playthrough of a chapter.
▍Battle
It is a simple turn-based RPG similar to Fate/Grand Order. A team consists of at most four members and a support, whom can be assigned on a 3×3 grid map. Before attacking, players have to select a target and choose three disks.

Attack Combo:
| Accele Combo | Accele disk x3 – all girls get extra points |
| Blast Combo | Blast disk x3 – attack power increases |
| Charge Combo | Charge disk x3 – Extra damage in next turn |
| Puella Combo | All attacks by a single magic girl in one turn – the attacker’s power increases greatly |
