The TV anime adaptation of the video game Atelier Ryza: Ever Darkness & the Secret Hideout will debut on July 1, 2023, as announced through its first promotional video and key visual.
The promotional video introduces the protagonists, Reisalin Stout, voiced by Yuri Noguchi; her adventure counterpart Klaudia Valentz, voiced by Hitomi Ōwada; Lent Marslink, voiced by Takuma Terashima; and Tao Mongarten, voiced by Yui Kondo.
The opening theme song was announced to be “Golden Ray” (ゴールデンレイ)” performed by Sangatsu no Phantasia with lyrics and composition provided by Harumaki Gohan.
In a message to the fans, the music unit Sangatsu no Phantasia said, “Congratulations on the anime adaptation. In our opening theme ‘Golden Ray’, we sing about the ordinary yet special light that exists close to us. We would be honored if this song could be a ray of hope that colors the adventure story of Ryza and her friends.”

The pre-screening event, Atelier Ryza: Ever Darkness & the Secret Hideout Pre-Screening & Talk Event Road to One Summer, will take place on June 17 at Shinjuku Wald 9 in Tokyo.
Following the screening, there will be a panel discussion with the main cast Yuri Noguchi, Hitomi Ōwada, Takuma Terashima, and Yui Kondo. Hirofumi Nojima, who voices Empel Vollmer, and Haruka Terui, who plays Lila Decyrus will also make an appearance. Pre-sale ticket is currently available until June 1.

Ryza is the daughter of a farmer from Lazenboden Village on Kurken Island. Feeling constrained by the village’s strict rules and traditions, she yearns for adventure and wants to change her ordinary life. She often neglects her duties in helping with farm work, which her mother has assigned to her, showing a lack of seriousness. However, when she believes in something, she approaches it with sincere passion.
■ Klaudia Valentz – CV: Hitomi Ōwada
Klaudia travels the world with her father’s merchant caravan and visited Lazenboden Village for business purposes. As a hobby, she plays the flute, which she learned from her mother when she was young. However, she is shy and introverted, making it difficult for her to play in front of others. Additionally, she keeps her flute playing a secret from her father, so she sometimes sneaks away from the caravan to practice in secret.
■ Lent Marslink – CV: Takuma Terashima
Lent is one of Ryza’s childhood friends. He has a bright and cheerful personality, but he is also sensible and often tries to stop Ryza’s reckless behavior. His father is a notorious outlaw and former mercenary, which frustrates and disappoints him. With a strong ambition to not be buried in such an environment, Lent trains his body daily and undergoes sword training. His goal is to conquer the tower that stands far north of the village.
■ Tao Mongarten – CV: Yui Kondou
Tao is also one of Ryza’s childhood friends, but he is slightly younger. His goal is to decipher the ancient texts stored in her family’s underground library. He is highly passionate about deciphering and sometimes loses track of time, forgetting to eat and sleep. Unlike Ryza, Tao has a cautious and timid personality, but he is a good companion who cares for his friends, often getting involved in Ryza’s spontaneous adventures. Tao is knowledgeable but prefers to stay at home and read books, as he is not very adept at physical activities.

This popular series, which revolves around the theme of alchemy and the concoction of various items, has a history spanning over 25 years, starting with the release of Atelier Marie: The Alchemist of Salburg in 1997. The latest game in the series, Atelier Ryza 3: Alchemist of the End & the Secret Key, launched on March 23, 2023.
