Based on the fantasy-comedy light novel series written by Satoshi Wagahara and illustrated by 029, The Devil is a Part-Timer! is back with a new season. The upcoming sequel is officially titled The Devil Is a Part-Timer!! Season 2, but is a direct continuation of the anime’s previous seasons and is widely known as The Devil is a Part-Timer Season 3. It will stream exclusively on Disney+ on July 13, 2023.
The newly unveiled key visual for this season features main characters Sadao Maō and Emi Yusa, alongside Alas Ramus. Additionally, the second season will introduce several cast members including Tomokazu Sugita as Farfarello, Megumi Han as Erone, and Chikahiro Kobayashi as Archangel Camael.
The new promotional video features the revealed characters and their voices, along with the series’ opening theme song, “City Without Light” by nano.RIPE, and the ending song “bloominʼ” by Liyuu. The contrasting songs are intended to portray the duality of the characters’ ordinary lives and the severe developments set to unfold in the upcoming season.
Furthermore, a special program featuring The Devil is a Part-Timer!! Season 2 is slated to stream exclusively on ABEMA as part of “Dengeki Bunko 30th Summer Festival Online 2023”. The event, set for July 16 at 6 pm [JST], will host by Ryōta Ōsaka (who played Sadao Maō), Yōko Hikasa (who played Emi Yusa), and Nao Tōyama (who played Chiho Sasaki) as they discuss previous events of the series and reveal new details about the season.

Hataraku Maō-sama! is a Japanese light novel series written by Satoshi Wagahara and illustrated by 029 (Oniku). First published in February 2011 by ASCII Media Works. Yen Press under the Yen On imprint also published the series in English as The Devil is a Part-Timer!, beginning on April 21, 2015. The series has had two manga adaptations, serialized in ASCII Media Works’ Dengeki Daioh and Dengeki Maoh magazines. The first anime adaptation, produced by White Fox, premiered on April 4, 2013. A second season, produced by studio 3Hz, premiered on July 14, 2022.
The series follows Satan Jacob, the Demon King from the fantastical war-ridden world of Ente Island. After facing defeat from a heroic uprising, Satan and his surviving general Alsiel retreat to an alternate dimension, which turns out to be modern-day Tokyo on Earth. Stripped of most of his magical abilities and forced to take on a human form, Satan must navigate the mundane challenges of human life.
Maō takes up a job at a fast-food restaurant to pay for his living expenses and tries to figure out how to regain his magical powers. As he gets used to this new life, Satan’s personality drastically changes from a cruel overlord to a considerate, cheerful, and hardworking person. However, an encounter with his old-world adversary, heroine Emilia Justina, reminds him of his true objective, returning to his world to resume his conquest.
