Kyle Thompson, the developer behind the side-scrolling adventure game Islets announced a new title called Crypt Custodian, a Metroidvania and Zelda-like where you play as a cat stuck in the afterlife!
You play as Pluto, a cat stuck in the afterlife after having… well, died, and after having a brief discussion with the Afterlife’s guardian about entering the Afterlife’s palace, you are banished and sentenced to clean for an eternity! Players can explore vast levels from a top-down perspective while battling enemies with Pluto’s trusty broomstick and exploring levels using its unique powers and other tools you pick up along the way.
Crypt Custodian is coming to PC via Steam in 2024.

The game is a top-down adventure action title where you’ll be controlling Pluto as they clean up the afterlife, one ghost at a time. Explore the levels with Pluto’s array of abilities to battle beasts, leap across platforms, and dodge attacks by jumping and darting across the world.
As you progress you’ll meet a cast of colorful characters all with unique takes on their new life being dead, and also encounter puzzles and secrets that can be accessed using your new powers found throughout the world. You’ll also be able to upgrade your gear at the local Sinner’s Inn, a gathering hub for the many ghosts you’ll meet along your journey. Discover all of the secrets behind this world hidden in every corner while you find a way to secretly break back into the palace you were denied from!
