The television anime adaptation of Kōji Seo’s The Café Terrace and Its Goddesses romantic comedy manga is getting a second season in 2024! The announcement was confirmed right after the final episode of season one that aired this Saturday.
The announcement came with the release of a teaser visual featuring the five heroines joyfully notifying fans about the forthcoming season, capturing the essence of the playful and lighthearted tone of the series. The main voice cast will also reprise their roles for the 2nd season.
Satoshi Kuwabara will resume his role as the series director of the second season. In addition, Keiichirō Ōchi will continue to work on the series composition, and the character design remains in the hands of Masatsune Noguchi. Miki Sakurai and Shu Kanematsu will once again be responsible for the music. Tezuka Productions will handle the animation production as they did for the first season.
Further details about the second season, including its premiere date and episode count, are expected to be announced through the anime’s official Twitter account and website at a later date.
▍About The Café Terrace and Its Goddesses
Kōji Seo started serializing The Café Terrace and Its Goddesses manga in Kodansha’s Weekly Shōnen Magazine in February 2021. An anime television series adaptation by Tezuka Productions aired from April to June 2023. It has been published digitally in English as The Café Terrace and Its Goddesses by Kodansha USA since October 18, 2022.
The story follows Hayato Kusakabe as he tries to keep his late grandma’s struggling cafe afloat with five girls from differing ages and backgrounds, all with seemingly zero talent for the restaurant business! Hilarity ensues as the group tries to manage the cafe all while getting into romantic comedy situations, and the girls come to understand Hayato better over time.
