Season 2 of the anime based on Hiroyuki’s Girlfriend, Girlfriend (Kanojo mo Kanojo) manga series released a teaser trailer for the new season, its key visuals, and the staff members involved.
The anime will feature a new set of staff and a few returning ones. Takatoshi Suzuki is the new director for the series at Synergy SP while Keiichirō Ōchi is returning to continue overseeing the series script, along with Kazuhiko Inukai. Character design is done by Shouko Hagiwara, and music is composed by Kanade Sakuma, Tatsuhiko Saiki, Miki Sakurai, and Junko Nakajima, with the music production being done by Nichion in collaboration with Myrica Music.
Season 2 is set to premiere in October 2023.
▍About Girlfriend, Girlfriend
The series is a Japanese romantic comedy created by Hiroyuki, also known for their other rom-com works like Aho-Girl and The Comic Artist and his Assistants.
The series follows Naoya Mukai, a young man who recently started a relationship with his childhood sweetheart Saki Saki. Right after their relationship begins though, a girl from his class, Nagisa Minase decides to confess to him. Unable to let down two girls, or any girl that loves him, he decides the only sane thing to do would be to have both of them as his girlfriends at the same time. Since Naoya’s family has been mostly overseas due to work, the three begin to live together at his home, maintaining a bizarre, heartwarming, and comedic love triangle!
