The production of the second part of NieR: Automata Ver1.1a anime has been officially announced! The announcement was revealed alongside a teaser trailer after the broadcast of the first part on July 23. A premiere date for part two was not revealed.
The teaser trailer featured the series’ main characters, 2B and 9S, raising anticipation for what the upcoming part has in store. Fans can expect the series to delve deeper into the characters’ backgrounds and expand its post-apocalyptic world of the popular game, NieR:Automata.
▍About NieR: Automata Ver1.1a
Nier Automata Ver1.1a is an anime adaptation of the console and PC game of NieR: Automata, which won several awards including Best Score / Music at the 2017 Game Awards, and Game of the Year at the 2017 Japan Game Awards. The anime’s first season started airing in January 2023 and its ninth episode has been delayed several times due to production issues.
The series takes place several years after humanity was driven off the planet by mechanical beings. In a last-ditch effort, humanity created YoRHa, an organization of powerful androids sent to wage war against the invaders. As the war rages on between android and machine, a truth is sleeping being revealed that could unravel this entire conflict, and bring about the end of YoRHa.
