Publisher Playism, in collaboration with Samurai Bringer developer Alphawing, announced Metal Bringer, a roguelite action game slated for a PC release via Steam in 2024. As a follow-up to the successful 2022 release of Samurai Bringer, the new title is set in a science-fiction world where players combat androids and giant robots.
The game carries the legacy of Samurai Bringer, where players once battled famous Japanese samurai. Metal Bringer, the second in the Bringer series, offers a fresh setting with unique twists. A young girl named Suria, waking up after 1000 years in cryosleep, sets out to find humanity, creating highly customizable android soldiers called Labor and giant machines known as Arms. Unlike its predecessor, the game evolves in horde-based combat, promising an even more satisfying gameplay.
Leveraging the voxel art style and real-time pixel art generating system from Samurai Bringer, this game brings the newest raytracing technology to deliver beautifully lit environments, coupled with real-time music that changes according to the situation.
Metal Bringer boasts an All-Star creative team, including key art and character design by Suzuhito Yasuda, renowned for works like Durarara!! and the Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor series, and writer Sami Shinosaki, known for novelizations of the Armored Core and Fire Emblem series.
The announcement also marked Playism’s return to PAX West after four years, with a demo of Metal Bringer to be showcased at the event, inviting fans to the Seattle Convention Center from September 1 to 4, to experience the first playable demo. Visitors to the Playism booth will receive a special postcard.

In order to search for the rest of humanity, she builds Labor with her trusty Buds, and sends them off to investigate…
