Yoichi Takahashi’s (高橋 陽一) classic soccer manga Captain Tsubasa (キャプテン翼) previously announced an TV anime remake. Today, the premiere date is confirmed to be 2nd April 2018.
The show is based on the very beginning of the manga created between 1981 and 1988, which focuses on Tsubasa Oozora’s primary school life. According to Takahashi, the anime has adopted a more contemporary setting considering how much time has passed since he first drew the series.
