Yoshinobu Akita’s (秋田禎信) light novel series Sorcerous Stabber Orphen (魔術士オーフェン) is 25 years old in 2019, and it will make a grand return with a new TV anime!
The TV anime is part of the Orphan 25th Anniversary Project. Nothing is confirmed except that it is going to premiere in 2019.
The protagonist is an orphan magician Orphen. His foster sister Azalie becomes a dragon-like creature as a result of her desire to get greater magical powerful. Determined to save Azalie, he leaves his prestigious magic school to search for a remedy. During the journey, he is joined by Cleao Everlasting, whom later develops feelings for him. The novel was published between 1994 and 2003, and adapted in two TV anime seasons during 1998 and 2000. The spin-off novel, Slayers x Orphen, is still in progress.
