First announced in Tokyo Game Show 2017, manga series Popolocrois’ first mobile game finally comes out today.
Written by Yosuke Tamori (田森 庸介), Popolocroi started serialization in Asahi Shogakusei Shinbun in 1978. This latest game adaption, Popolocrois: Narcia no Namida to Yosei no Fue (ポポロクロイス物語 ~ナルシアの涙と妖精の笛), is already the 8th entry of the game series by Sega. Four years have passed since the last title came out.
The plot is set eight years later than that of the original story. The protagonists Pietro PakaPuka and Narcia have already grown up. With the addition of 50 characters voiced by Tomokazu Sugita, Yuichi Nakamura, and many other well-known voice artists, the game is so extensive that it contains approximately 1,000 events.
Tiled-based battle is the most crucial part of the gameplay. Players have to form of a team consisting of five members (with one being an assistance NPC) and allocate them on a 3×3 grid. Each teammate takes turn to attack the enemies on the opposite grid.
