Otome game Meiji Tokyo Renka’s (明治東亰恋伽) TV anime adaption of the same title is confirmed to be airing in January 2019.
The first key visual shows eight main characters that are date-able in the game: Ogai Mori (Daisuke Namikawa), Shunso Hishida (CV: KENN), Otojiro Kawakami (CV: Kosuke Toriumi), Kyoka Izumi (CV: Nobuhiko Okamoto), Goro Fujita (CV: Jun Fukuyama), Yakumo Koizumi (CV: Shinnosuke Tachibana), Charlie (CV: Toshiyuki Morikawa), and Iwasaki Tosuke (CV: Yoshimasa Hosoya). The silent players’ character Mei Ayatsuki is voiced by Sumire Morohoshi.
It is now directed by Akitaro Daichi at TMS Entertainment. A teaser site is now open.
Meiji Tokyo Renka, also called YuiKoi, is originally a mobile/PSP adventure game published in 2013. Mei is just another modern high school girl. After meeting a mysterious magician called Charlie, she gets teleported to Meiji era’s Tokyo. Charlie introduces her to Japan’s eight big figures of the time. These people have successful careers but they choose to work with Mei to expel yokai instead, and fall for her as the journey goes on.
The series’ latest mobile game Meiji Tokyo Renka: Hanukara Date is now ready for pre-registration.
