Today (8th March), Square Enix announced the latest title for their recent original IP, Octopath Traveler. The new game is titled Octopath Traveler – Champion of the Continent (OCTOPATH TRAVELER 大陸の覇者) and will be released for mobile as a singleplayer RPG.
Octopath Traveler – Champion of the Continent is set years before the events of the first game of the series released on Nintendo Switch. The game will continue the series’ traditional JRPG gameplay.
Similar to the original game, the prequel will feature a pixel art graphic style with 3DCG effects. Players will be able to explore the “HD-2D” rendered world of Octopath Traveler before the events of the original game.

▍Pre-Registration Begins
Pre-registration for the game has already launched. Players will be able to pre-register for the game via Twitter, LINE, and email.
Additionally, the official website for the game has also announced that a closed beta will be launched soon. Fans will be able to register for the closed beta on the official website starting 12th March.
