Premiering in October, animation studio 8-Bit’s original TV anime Hoshiai no Sora (星合の空) recently released a second visual and announced more cast members.
The previously announced visual showcases the tennis partner of transfer student Maki Katsuragi (桂木眞己), right above, and captain of soft tennis team Toma Shinjo(新城柊).
A new tennis pair is revealed in the second visual, including Jun Ameno (雨野樹), left above, the shortest player in the team and caring vice-captain Rintaro Futsu (布津凜太朗).
The anime is directed and written by Code Geass: Akito the Exiled (コードギアス 亡国のアキト) director Kazuki Akane (赤根 和樹). Yūichi Takahashi (高橋 裕一) is the animation director adapting the original character designs by illustrator Itsuka (いつか). Japanese instrumental band, jizue, is composing the music for the anime.
▍Story
The teen adolescence story revolves around the coming-of-age of boys in a junior high school’s soft tennis team, which is on the verge of shutting down. Soft tennis team captain Touma Shinjou asks talented transfer student Maki Katsuragi to join the team in order to win in the summer competition. But Katsuragi asks for money in return for joining the team.

Katsuragi is a transfer student living with his single man and he does all the housework at home.
■ Toma Shinjo(新城柊) – CV: Tasuku Hatanaka (畠中祐)
Having the same age as Katsuragi, Shinjo is the captain of the soft tennis team.
■ Jun Ameno (雨野樹) – Yoshitsugu Matsuoka (松岡禎丞)
Ameno is the shortest player in the soft tennis team. His sharp tongue always causes him trouble.
■ Rintaro Futsu (布津凜太朗) – Satou Gen (佐藤元)
Futsu is the vice-captain of the team and has a caring personality, but he starts to lose confidence after the talented tennis player Katsuragi joined.
