TV anime adaptation of Paru Itagaki’s (板垣巴留) shonen manga BEASTARS reveals its full cast and a new PV. The series will premiere this October.
The series has won multiple awards, including being the first Akita Shoten title to take home the Manga Taishō Award. The anime is animated by CG studio Orange. Thurdercats supervising director Shinichi Matsumi (松見 真一) is directing the series, with Nanami Higuchi (樋口 七海) handling series composition.
It was also announced that the anime’s yet-tiled ED theme song is performed by singer YURiKA.
▍Story
The story takes place in a world of civilized anthropomorphic animals with a cultural segregation between carnivores and herbivores. The series takes its name from the in-universe rank of Beastar, an individual of great talent and notoriety.
Legoshi, a large gray wolf, is a timid and quiet student of Cherryton Academy, where he lives in a dorm with several other carnivorous students. As a member of the school’s drama club, Legoshi works at the backstage and supports the actors of the club.
One night, an alpaca is brutally murdered and devoured in the night, setting a wave of unease and distrust between the herbivore and carnivore students. At the same time, Legoshi has a fateful encounter with Haru, a small dwarf rabbit, and begins developing complex feelings for her.
