In celebration of the 20th anniversary of the TV anime series, Magical DoReMi (おジャ魔女どれみ) announced details of its upcoming anime film, Majo Minarai o Sagashite / Looking for Witch Apprentices (魔女見習いをさがして). The film is scheduled to premiere in Japanese theatre on 15th May, 2020.
Director of the TV anime series, Junichi Sato (佐藤順一) reprises his role, alongside Yū Kamatani (鎌谷悠) at Toei Animation. Midori Kuriyama (栗山綠) and Yoshihiko Umakoshi (馬越嘉彦) are also returning as script writer and character designer, respectively, and Umakoshi is also credited as chief animation director.

The film follows 27-year-old Tokyo office worker Mire Yoshizuki, 22-year-old fourth-year college student Sora Nagase, and 20-year-old boyish freelancer Reika Kawatani. The appearance of a magic gem draws these three completely different women together and a new magical story begins now…
