Natsumi Eguchi’s (江口 夏実) dark comedy manga Hozuki’s Coolheadedness (鬼灯の冷徹) ends its serialization today (9th January) in Kodansha’s Weekly Morning magazine.

The final episode, titled “The Thing About Nurturing” (育成するということ), puts a finale for the nine-year serialization. The cover of the January issue of Weekly Morning magazine is also featured in its official Twitter.

The thirty and thirty-one tankōbon volume is scheduled to published on 23rd March 2020 and 21st August 2020, respectively, in Japan. A manga manuscript exhibition will also be held from 12th – 24th August 2020 in Matsuya Ginza, Tokyo.

About the Series

Hozuki’s Coolheadedness has been serialized by Weekly Morning since March 2011, with chapters collected in twenty-nine tankōbon volumes as of September 2019. The manga was adapted into a television anime series; Wit Studio produced the first season in 2014, and Studio Deen was responsible for a second season in 2017–2018.

The manga focuses on the funny daily episode in hell, which revolves around Hozuki, a demon who works for the King and Head Judge of Hell. In Japan, the Hozuki’s Coolheadedness manga had over 11 million copies in print as of May 2019. The manga and anime have been featured at various times in weekly top ten lists of best-selling in their respective media.
