The latest Pokémon film “Pokémon the Movie: Coco”/ “Pocket Monsters the Movie: Coco” (劇場版ポケットモンスター ココ) today (28th February) reveals a key visual, trailer and teaser video. It is the 23rd anime film of the Pokémon franchise and is set to premiere in Japan on 10th July 2020.
The videos preview the film’s story and key character Coco alongside Zarude, the newly revealed mythical Pokémon for the “Pokémon Sword” and “Pokémon Shield” RPG for Nintendo Switch.

The story is set in Okoya Forest, a Pokémon paradise protected by strict rules that forbid outsiders from setting foot inside. It centers on Coco, a boy who was raised by Pokémon and also considers himself as one, treating the mythical Pokémon Zarude as his father, while Ash and Pikachu encounter Coco during an adventure.
▍Staff and Production
Tetsuo Yajima (矢嶋哲生) returns from 2018’s “Pokémon the Movie: The Power of Us” to direct the film at OLM, and is co-writing the film’s script with Pokémon series writer Atsuhiro Tomioka (冨岡淳広) .
Hiroyuki Kato (加藤浩幸) is the animation producer. “Pokémon the Movie: The Power of Us” chief animation director Hirotaka Marufuji (丸藤広貴) is designing the characters, and is also the chief animation director alongside Yasushi Nishitani (西谷泰史).
TOHO is distributing the film.
