Toru Toba’s “The Genius Prince’s Guide to Raising a Nation Out of Debt” (天才王子の赤字国家再生術) light novel series is confirmed to inspire a TV anime adaptation. The story centers on a lazy prince who tries to auction off his country so that he could live in a peaceful life. Sōma Saitō will play the protagonist prince Wein.

▍About the Series
Toru Toba started serializing the novel series in May 2018 with illustrations by Falmaro. It was collected into eight volumes by SB Creative and has been sold over 250,000 copies as of February 2020. The ninth volume will be published in March 2021. A manga adaptation by Emuda starts serialization on Manga UP! App since October 2020.
The series centers on Prince Wein who is about to commit treason. Faced with the impossible task of ruling his pathetic little kingdom, this poor guy just can’t catch a break! But with his brilliant idea of auctioning off his country, this lazy prince should be able to retire once and for all. Or that was the plan…until his treasonous schemes lead to disastrous consequences-namely, accidental victories and the favor of his people!
