Today (28th March), a new PV was unveiled at AnimeJapan 2021 for the multimedia idol x audition x reality show project “Selection Project”. The new PV released is specifically for the anime part of the multimedia project and reveals new cast members for the anime series.
The new cast members revealed are Daisuke Ono who will voice Sumipanda and Saori Hayami who will voice Akari Amasawa. The official website for the anime series has also been updated to include the new cast and characters on the characters page.
During the stage event, an announcement was also made for a new four-panel manga series for the project titled Sele Pro-chan (セレプロちゃんっ！) which will launch on the project’s official website and official Twitter account on 19th April. The manga will be drawn by Mokeo.
▍About the Project
Selection Project is a multimedia project that centers around the seventh annual “Selection Project” a national idol reality show held every year during the summer. The reality show is the top gateway for girls who aspire to become idols to step into the idol industry.
The story follower Suzune Miyama, a girl who wishes to become an idol like Akari Amazawa, the winner of the first Selection Project. At a young age, Suzune was stricken with illness and often listened to Akari’s music in her hospital room. Akari’s music gave Suzune courage. Suzune wishes to give other courage the same way Akari’s voice did through her music and decides to enter the seventh Selection project to pursuit her dreams.
