Too Kyo Games and Akatsuki announced that the Tribe Nine project is getting a smartphone game and TV anime during a live stream at Tokyo Game Show 2021 on September 30.
The live stream also revealed the first promotional video previewing the project’s worldview and characters from different tribes.
Tribe Nine is a new IP project jointly produced by Akatsuki and Tookyo Games and has been created for four years. The game is produced by Akatsuki, while the worldview and scenario is created by Tookyo Games. Danganronpa creator Kazutaka Kodaka is credited with the original work.

The story takes place in fictional 23 wards in Tokyo, where outlaw groups formed by the desperate young people in each ward use a duelling method called “Xtrean baseball” to battle against each other. The losing team will have to follow the orders of the winning team. There are no stadiums for the battles, while duels are held over the streets. Fields will take advantage of each of the 23 wards’ characteristics.

▍TV Anime
The project has also confirmed a TV anime in January 2022. A key visual has been revealed for the announcement. The series is animated by Liden Films. Yuu Aoki makes her directorial debut to direct the series.
The anime will follow the story of members of the Minto Tribe and their character designs are also revealed.
A webtoon is also confirmed based on the story of the anime.

▍Mobile Game
Tribe Nine is a 3D action RPG that is set to release for iOS and Android. The game is still under development and the release date is not yet confirmed.
The game will share the same universe as the TV anime, but it will focus on the different perspectives of the characters from the 23 tribes. The live stream also revealed several in-game screenshots.
