The anime adaptation of Shinobu Ohtaka’s Orient revealed a new visual for its 2nd cour, which is scheduled to premiere in July 2022. The second cour will follow the Battle of Awaji Island arc.
The visual sheds spotlight on Uesugi Bushidan, while Yōko Hikasa joins the cast as Kuroko Usami. Additional cast members for the anime’s 2nd cour includes Tomaki Maeno as Tatsuomi Uesugi, Natsuki Hanae as Kanetatsu Naoe, Yoshiki Nakajima as Masayuki Amakasu, Kouki Uchiyama as Akihiro Shimazu, and Gakuto Kajiwara as Katsumi Amako.
The anime is based on the manga of the same name by Magi creator Shinobu Ohtaka. It began serialization in May 2018 in Kodansha’s Weekly Shounen Magazine, before moving to the monthly Bessatsu Shounen Magazine in February 2021. 14 tankoubon volumes of the series have been published so far.

At age 10, best friends Musashi and Kojiro sat in excited silence as Kojiro’s father spun tales of evil demons who preyed on the innocent, and the warriors who defeated them. Practicing swordplay, the two swear an oath to become the strongest in the world. But as they grow up, Kojiro turns cynical, and Musashi comes to realize that he can’t turn back 150 years of demon rule on his own.
