Known for his worldwide hit manga Hunter x Hunter and Yu Yu Hakusho, manga creator Yoshihiro Togashi is having his first art exhibition in Japan collecting his work spanning 35 years. Titled Yoshihiro Togashi -PUZZLE-, the exhibition will be held from October 28 to January 9, 2023, in Mori Arts Center Gallery, Tokyo.
Three new visuals by Togashi were revealed for the upcoming exhibition, with the main one seeing 15 characters from Level E, Hunter x Hunter and Yu Yu Hakusho gathered in one image. Two additional visuals highlighting characters from his early work, Level E and his most recent Hunter x Hunter were also posted.
The Yoshihiro Togashi -PUZZLE- exhibition will display more than 350 materials, including handwritten manuscripts and color illustrations. The exhibition aims to capture the essence of Togashi’s artistry from multiple perspectives. The exhibition will also head to Osaka and Fukuoka after its showcase in Tokyo.
Togashi expressed gratitude and joy in regards of the exhibiton. “I always wonder if I could keep drawing the story for my manga. And the fact is that I couldn’t draw without sitting in a chair for about two years. But after giving up the traditional method, I managed to resume my creation now. Everyone, please value your waist like I do.” he commented.
