A huge wave of late 2000s nostalgia is hitting me all at once, when it as revealed on Twitter that Kagami Yoshimizu’s Lucky Stars manga, is finally coming back from an eight-year-long hiatus on November 10!
The manga was placed on hiatus after Yoshimizu had to set time aside to work on a new project. The series is coming back to Kadokawa’s Mitaina! magazine on its third issue.
This is by no means confirmation that Lucky Stars is getting another anime season, but it’s great to know that the manga is finally coming back, and a piece of many of our childhoods and teen years is resurfacing
▍About Lucky Stars
Lucky Stars is a slice-of-life comedy manga written by Kagami Yoshimizu. The series has an anime that aired in 2007, known for its incredibly relatable scenarios, slice-of-life comedy, and plenty of pop-culture references, with a commonly referenced in-joke being that Konata Izumi, voiced by Aya Hirano also voices Suzumiya Haruhi, with both series being animated by Kyoto Animation.
Lucky Stars’ unique composition and heavy in-reference to otaku culture, while also being a great read lead many to visit its real-world locations featured in the anime and opening, especially with the series even including instructions on how to get there, leading to mass “pilgrimages” to these memorable locations.
