The anime based on Aka Akasaka’s Oshi No Ko announced it will be debuting in 2023, with the show’s first episode being a 90-minute feature episode featuring Hoshino Ai!
Hoshino Ai’s voice actress has also been revealed to be none other than Takahashi Rie, who you’ll definitely know as Emilia from Re:Zero, Megumin from Konosuba, Takagi-San. Mash Kyrielight from Fate / Grand Order and so much more! The show also released a brand new visual featuring Hoshino Ai in one of her signature poses.

Takahashi Rie also released some comments regarding her role in the show:
“For this anime adaptation, I’m playing the role of Hoshino Ai. I’ve been following the serialization of the manga, and not only am I a fan of it, but the manga also helped inspire me during my work daily. My heart skipped a beat when I heard about the anime adaptation, and was moved as a fellow reader when I saw the love and care the staff was putting into this series.
I trembled at the opportunity to audition for this, and when they told me about their decision I cried, the tears wouldn’t stop flowing. I will do my job with the utmost love and respect, so I can bring color to the special moments of Ai’s performance, thank you for your continued support for the anime.

The anime is also scheduling a live broadcast featuring new information on the anime, featuring Rie Takahashi and the additional voice actors appearing in the anime!
▍Oshi No Ko Story
The story follows Goro, a young doctor who is a huge fan of his favorite idol Ai Hoshino. After suddenly being told to handle the birth of his favorite idol’s children, he is murdered by a crazed fan and is then reborn as one of the children. The story follows him, and his sister who was a previous patient of his, as they learn the truth about their birth, and follow in the footsteps of their beloved mother, and Oshi (Favorite Girl).
Oshi No Ko is a manga written by Aka Akasaka, known also for being the author and artist of Kaguya-Sama: Love Is War, Oshi No Ko is illustrated by Mengo Yokoyari, and the series has been in publication since 2020 and was recently made available on Jump +! Volume 8 of the manga was released on June 17, 2022, in Japan, and the manga has sold over 3 million copies! Oshi No Ko also won first place at the Next Manga Awards in the print category in 2021.
