In commemoration of the classic detective visual novel Jake Hunter series’ 30th anniversary, a new mobile spin-off Jake Hunter: Oldies (探偵 神宮寺三郎 Oldies) has been released by Arc System Works.
The game does not contain new stories but remastered versions of Jake Hunter: Kito’s Night, Jake Hunter: The Endless Night and Jake Hunter: Portrait of a Dead Child, which are all pervious original mobile release. The first chapter can be played for free, and each of the following chapters is 480 yen.
Jake Hunter, or Saburo Jinguji in the Japanese version, is a detective who operates a detective agency of his own. He is remembered for his hard boiled image and being a heavy smoker. The franchise has been published on various platforms ranging from Famicon to Nintendo 3DS since 1987.
