SNK announced that the next blast from the past would be arriving on Nintendo and Steam digital storefronts in the form of the NEOGEO Pocket Color Selection Vol.2 coming on November 10!
SNK also mentioned in a tweet that the collection would have a physical release sometime in the Spring of 2023. Oddly enough this piece of news was omitted from the global tweet, probably due to character count.
▍NEOGEO Pocket Color Selection Vol.2 Details
The collection features 10 titles, though the developers have not yet divulged what those games are. The cover art does give us some insight as to what we can expect in the pint-sized compendium coming soon.
Curiously, the promotional art seems to feature titles that were previously released as standalone games. These include the four Mega man characters featured predominantly in the center of the art, possibly hinting at the inclusion of Mega man Battle & Fighters within the collection. Other than this, titles like Biomotor Unitron, Big Bang Pro Wrestling, and SNK vs. Capcom: Card Fighters Clash seem to be likely included as well.
Version differences between the Steam and Nintendo Switch versions left players slightly confused the last time around, with the two versions listing different games in its collection. The official announcements by the developer’s Twitter accounts have currently been relegated to a single tweet mentioning the above release dates, so it still stands to question if the two separate platforms will see any deviations this time around.
The first volume of the collection, “NEOGEO Pocket Color Selection Vol.1” is currently available on Nintendo Switch, with a separate NEOGEO Pocket Color Selection Vol.1 STEAM EDITION available on PC via the Steam storefront.
