Anohana: The Flower We Saw That Day’s screenwriter Mari Okada (岡田 麿里) announced a new anime movie, Sayonara no Asa ni Yakusoku no Hana o Kazarou (さよならの朝に約束の花をかざろう), for next year release. This original movie is written and directed by Okada at P.A.WORKS.
It tells the story of a young girl who lives alone. Her encounter with another lonely person changes her life. In between all the encounter and departure, she feels love for the first time.
Okada has previously written the scripts for many well-received titles such as Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans, Toradora! and Anohana. This is the first time Okada directs and produces a movie of her own. It will premiere on 24th February, 2018.
