The live-action film adaptation of Kujira Anan’s “And Yet, You Are So Sweet” shoujo manga has revealed the main visual and a new trailer. The theme song is “Special Kiss” performed by the Japanese boy band Naniwa Danshi.
The film which will be released in all theaters in Japan on March 3, 2023, is a love story about the relationship between Maaya Kisaragi, the heroine who has just been dumped by the person she loves, and Sui Chigira, a cool, handsome guy in the same grade as Maaya.
The trailer begins with a scene in which Sui, played by Kyohei Takahashi (Naniwa Danshi member), proposes a “one-sided love play” to Maaya, played by Mei Hata, who is depressed after her heartbreak. In the second half, Sui’s rival Souma Tezuka, played by Rihito Itagaki, also appears, foreshadowing a tumultuous love story.
The main theme “Special Kiss”, is a song newly written by Naniwa Danshi, a Japanese boy band formed on October 6, 2018, consisting of seven members who primarily come from the Kansai region. The group’s official debut announcement was made on July 28, 2021, and their debut single, “Ubu Love”, was released on November 12, 2021.
The theme is a sweet love song that is in keeping with the worldview of the film and will be released on March 8 as Naniwa Danshi’s fourth single. The trailer and main visual will be shown in theaters across Japan starting on December 16.

Nanoni, Chigira-kun ga Amasugiru is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Kujira Anan. It was first serialized in the supplementary edition of Kodansha’s shoujo manga magazine Dessert, Pink, from May 2017 to October 2020, and then transferred to the main magazine in December 2020. The Manga has been published digitally in English as And Yet, You Are So Sweet by Kodansha Comics USA since April 27, 2021.
Maaya Kisaragi, 16 years old, finally confessed to her crush…only to be flatly rejected and ridiculed on social media after. To make matters worse, the most popular guy in her grade, Chigira-kun, overheard her despondent muttering about the whole thing. But instead of making fun of her, he comforts her…and proposes an odd solution to her heartbreak!
