At today’s Jump Festa 2023, a television anime adaptation of Akira Amano’s Ron Kamonohashi: Deranged Detective has finally been greenlit! The detective manga is created by Akira Amano, which is known to be the author of Katekyō Hitman Reborn!
The stage event also revealed a teaser visual and video alongside the announcement. The anime series is directed by Shota Ihata and animated by Diomedia. Wataru Watari is in charge of the series composition, while Masakazu Ishikawa is working on character designs. Yo Tsuji works on the music at Kadokawa.
The series focuses on the adventures of Ron Kamonohashi, an eccentric private detective, and Totomaru Isshiki, an unskilled police officer, as they solve crimes together.
The manga has been serialized in Shueisha’s Shōnen Jump+ since October 2020, with its chapters collected into eight tankōbon volumes as of November 2022. The ninth volume will publish on January 4 and its cover has also been revealed for the first time at the stage event.
