The live-action drama adaptation of Aki Amasawa’s shoujo manga Hamaru Otoko ni Keritai Onna (The Woman Who Wants to Kick the Man She Is Addicted to) has revealed its theme song and key visual. The 10-episode series will air on TV Asahi 24 stations in Japan starting January 14, 2023.
The key visual features the main characters Koichi Shitara, a man who fell from his elite life overnight, played by Johnny’s boyband Kis-My-Ft2 member Taisuke Fujigaya, and Itsuka Nishijima, a sloppy working girl, played by Nagisa Sekimizu.
Other main cast includes the residents of the boarding house, Suzu Masuda played by Sayu Kubota, Nao Sakuma played by Naomi Nishida and Shun Katori played by Taiga Kyomoto, who is in love with Itsuka.
The theme song for the drama is “Lemon Pie” by Kis-My-Ft2. Fujiyama drama’s protagonist and band member said, “The words ‘Lemon Pie’ expresses sweet and sour feelings of love, and I wanted the song to be a refreshing pop melody. As for the lyrics, I paid attention to the way the Japanese words are set to sound so that they would be clearly conveyed in the song.”

Based on the Josei manga “Hamaru Otoko ni Keritai Onna” by Aki Amasawa, first published May 25, 2021, in Kodansha’s magazine Kiss, the story follows Koichi Shitara, a man who fell from an elite life and ended up working as the manager of a shabby boarding house. Having lost his job, house, and wife, he was under the worst possible circumstances when he met Itsuka, one of the boarding house residents. A slightly perverted love story begins under one roof!
