The latest spinoff anime project of the Fafner in the Azure series, Behind the Line, has revealed a new trailer featuring its premiere date and theme song. The anime film by the animation studio Production I.G is scheduled to premiere on January 20, 2023, in theaters all over Japan.
The second trailer is filled with new scenes that show glimpses of the characters’ conflicts and thoughts amidst the emotional beauty of the images. The theme song “Start again” is performed by the Japanese duo angela, who also sang the opening, insert songs for the Fafner in the Azure anime series.
The mecha anime franchise created by Xebec in collaboration with Starchild Records started streaming in Japan in July 2004 and concluded in 2021. Behind the Line is a spin-off film that takes place between Fafner in the Azure: Heaven and Earth and Fafner in the Azure: Exodus.
▍Fafner in the Azure: Behind the Line Gift Campaign
From the first day of the screening on January 20, 2023, A first-come, first-served gift will be distributed to visitors at the theaters. A total of 13 miniature acrylic plates featuring chibi illustrations of the Behind The Line characters will be distributed randomly over three weeks.
In addition, goods commemorating the special advance screening will be on sale on the website Kinkurido from January 23, 2023.
It was also announced that a screening of the past series of Fafner in the Azure will be held on Nico Nico Live Broadcast from January 16.
