It’s been 10 years since Payday 2 officially came out on August 13 2013, and it looks like this year will finally be the year of its sequel, as Starbreeze revealed the logo for Payday 3, with a tentative release window of 2023.
A new trailer from Overkill showed off a logo of the game along with a shot of the original members of the crew, Dallas, Hoxton, Wolf and Chains standing by a bridge looking at the city of New York, the game’s new setting. The studio also opened up a steam page for the game where you can now add the title to your wishlist.
And as always Payday2 is on sale again but this time for a whipping 90% off on Steam.
▍About Payday 3
The sequel to Payday 2, Payday 3 follows the Payday gang on another series of heists after the explosive ending of the second game, with the crew taking their escapades to The Big Apple, New York. The game will be set in a slightly futuristic and modern era with the police force now employing more surveillance tactics and weaponry, including drones, EMPs and other systems to monitor the gang during firefights, and to make stealth harder. The gang will also have a new variety of tools at their disposal to take care of the police or avoid them entirely.
Payday 3 is said to be set in a “living, enormous New York” implying that maps will be larger than ever with more room to manoeuvre and firefights taking place in bigger areas with more police on the scene. The game will also be taking advantage of modern-day tech with software and cryptocurrency as part of the game’s world.
