The official YouTube channel of the television anime adaptation of Shuuichi Shigeno’s MF Ghost manga started streaming the third promotional video with English subtitles. The trailer also reveals the main cast members and staff. The anime is scheduled to premiere in 2023.
The main character, Kanata Katagiri, will be voiced by Yūma Uchida. Other cast members include Ayane Sakura as Ren Saionji, Daisuke Ono as Shun Aiba, Hiroshi Kamiya as Michael Beckenbauer, Daisuke Namikawa as Daigo Ōishi, Junichi Suwabe as Kaito Akaba, Hiroki Yasumoto as Fūjin Ishigami and many more.
Tomohito Naka is directing the anime at his studio Felix Film. Kenichi Yamashita is in charge of the series scripts, and writing them with Akihiko Inari. Naoyuki Onda is the character designer, as well as one of the chief animation directors alongside Chiyoko Sakamoto. Hiroki Uchida is the 3D director. Masafumi Mima is directing the sound, and Akio Dobashi, the original Initial D composer is composing the music.
MF Ghost focuses on a new rookie, Kanata Livington, who is competing with the pseudonym Kanata Katagiri, a 19-year-old Japanese-British young man, who has shown up on the scene driving a Toyota 86, and beating European top-tier cars, Kanata has been trained by legendary downhill and rally racer Takumi Fujiwara at the Royal Donington Racing School in the UK and is a Formula 4 world champion. He has only one motive: to find his long-lost father.
