A television anime adaptation has been announced for the comedy light novel VTuber Legend: How I Went Viral after Forgetting to Turn Off My Stream, written by Nana Nanato and illustrated by Siokazunoko. Along with the announcement, a teaser trailer has also been revealed.
To celebrate the anime adaptation announcement, a new illustration by Siokazunoko, the light novel’s illustrator, was also revealed. In the teaser trailer, the main character Awayuki Kokorone is played by Ayane Sakura.
No further details about the adaptation are available for now, and more details such as cast, staff, and animation studio will be revealed at a later date.

VTuber Legend: How I Went Viral after Forgetting to Turn Off My Stream is a Japanese light novel series written by Nana Nanato and illustrated by Siokazunoko. Serialization began on the novel publishing websites Hameln and Kakuyomu in June 2020, before starting publication under Fujimi Shobo’s Fujimi Fantasia Bunko imprint in May 2021. It has been digitally published in English as VTuber Legend: How I Went Viral after Forgetting to Turn Off My Stream by J-Novel Club from May 30, 2022.
Yuki Tanaka, a twenty-year former corporate slave, now works as a VTuber for Live On, one of Japan’s leading VTuber companies, as the beautiful and polite Awayuki Kokorone, but her subscriber numbers and savings are at a low point.
One night, after Yuki thinks her streaming is over, makes some cold jokes and reveals her true self with clips of her drunken comments going viral overnight. Yuki thinks her career is over, but to her surprise, she is now trending on social media due to the huge gap between personalities, now free of all pretended purity, with her new “loud drunk” character she starts streaming and realizes that her fellow VTubers turn out to be just as crazy as she is.
