Omega Force’s latest title Wild Hearts has revealed a brand new gameplay trailer, giving us a look at what an average hunt in the game might look like. The trailer primarily showed off a coop session hunt against one of the many supernatural beasts that players will encounter in the game called “Golden Tempest”.
Described by the game as being an embodiment of the might of nature, giant beasts known as the Kemono inhabit the land of Azuma and are a constant threat to the people. One such Kemono called the Aragane, or Golden Tempest is a tiger-like beast that harnesses the powers of the wind, moving at break-neck speeds.
The full gameplay trailer gives us a better look at the beasts in action as they telegraph and perform powerful moves to slay their would-be hunters. Golden Tempest, like his name suggests, can be seen in the footage using powers like pulling in player characters by suctioning the air towards itself and producing air blasts that send hunters soaring.
Golden Tempest itself seems to be capable of acrobatic feats despite its gigantic stature, as it flips and spins to knock away its hunters in a flurry of slashes and deadly tail swipes.
▍Karakuri Techniques in Action
As was shown in a previous trailer for Wild Hearts that focused on what the hunters have up their sleeves, the hunters in the gameplay can be seen using many different “Karakuri” techniques to help take down the gargantuan beast.
A vital strategy demonstrated by the hunters in the gameplay trailer is how the players have access to a Karakuri technique that manifests a wall in front of them. While these makeshift covers don’t seem capable of taking the physical brunt of Golden Tempest’s attacks, they looked to be effective at warding off the many wind projectiles the Kemono slings at the player characters.
Outside of the Karakuri walls, the trailer would show movement options enabled by the Karakuri, such as the ones used to fly, being used to perform aerial combat maneuvers, as well as to get a higher vantage point to gauge the situation better.
Though not tied to the Karakuri techniques shown in the trailer per se, another key feature seen in the trailer is the player’s ability to resuscitate their allies! Once a buddy falls in battle, a noticeable fireball icon can be seen above their names. Before time runs out, players will be able to rescue their compatriots by getting up close and holding the R2 button to fill out the green icon.

Finally, the Golden Tempest trailer also took the liberty of showing off three different kinds of weapons in Wild Hearts. The Claw Blade, Cannon, and the Karakuri Staff all offer different kinds of playstyles for hunters as they take down the Kemono.
