Developed by Koei Tecmo’s Omega Force under the EA Original Label, Wild Hearts was initially teased back in September at the Tokyo Games Show. Set to release on February 17, 2023, the game has since been explained by the developers as being a hunting game resembling the likes of games such as Monster Hunter.
The video showcases how Karakuri give players a creative, dynamic edge during combat—as they learn new forms and combinations, players can better prepare their hunting grounds and create advantageous conditions for their fight against giant beasts known as Kemonos.

Set in a fantasy version of feudal-era Japan called Azuma, players will take on giant beasts employing the ancient techniques known as “Karakuri”. Shown in the trailers are the various tech Hunters use from simple things like pressure traps to riding around what looks like a wooden-one-wheeled bike.
Players can either journey through the land of Azuma as a lone wolf or pack-hunt with up to two friends in co-op, with crossplay supported across all platforms!
The trailer goes on to show the various machinery hunters seemingly forming from thin air. Careful timing and proper placement of traps, platforms, and mechanisms on the field seem to be the game’s core mechanic. Players will gather resources, hunt, and unlock new Karakuri that’ll aid the hunt against increasingly deadlier prey.
Crafting changes the way players think about their hunt – they’ll need to learn how to adapt to new complexity as they unlock different Karakuri combinations and team up with allies to create even stronger Karakuri systems. With the persistent nature of Karakuri, players who fall in battle or receive aid from allies can continue to use their past hunting experience to set new traps and ways to travel with greater efficiency and strategy.
The Trailer ended itself off with another date for another trailer to be shown soon at The Game Awards on December 8, 2023. More news about the games no doubts robust mechanics is to be expected soon.
Wild Hearts will launch on February 17, 2023, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC via Steam, Epic Games Store, and Origin.
