The live-action drama adaptation of Mana Aizen’s Don’t Stop My Beautification (Ore no Bijoka ga Tomaranai?!) josei manga has revealed a new key visual and ending theme song.
The live-action is directed by Izuru Kumasaka, Ikuko Sawada, Kozue Sasaki, and Yuya Nakaizumi, and written by Yosuke Masaike, Ayumi Shimo, and Ikuko Sawada. Produced by PROTX and Studio Blue, it is scheduled to premiere on the streaming platform Paravi on February 1, with two new episodes every week, and also to be broadcast on TV Tokyo in Japan in April 2023.
The ending theme will be “Friends of Girls” (おんなともだち) by Uragiri Onigiri a.k.a. Hanako. The singer Hanako said, “I think the lyrics and melody gently encourage the main character, Haruomi, as his trauma gradually unravels and he grows stronger through new encounters and the kindness of others”. The opening theme, previously announced, is “Circle” by Kana Hanazawa.
The story follows Haruomi Saito, a college student who moves into a boarding house in Tokyo where, in exchange for a low rent, he has to work at the cross-dressing cafe and bar Spica Doll along with the other residents, which ends up having a positive effect on his introverted personality. Raiku plays the cross-dressing protagonist Harumi.
