Nijisanji EN Cancels AR Live Colors, 10 Days After it was Announced

A couple of days ago Nijisanji EN announced that it was holding the agency’s first-ever AR Live Concert called Colors, which would feature 19 Nijisanji livers and will also have many of them debuting in 3D for the first time.

Sadly the concert got canceled. In an official statement from Nijisanji on the company’s website and then translated by Shu Yamino, the company announced that “due to various circumstances including coronavirus outbreaks”, the show is being canceled and the company is currently issuing refunds for everyone that purchased a ticket.

Naturally, this caused a whole bunch of livers and fans to be upset, with livers like Reimu Endou expressing how disappointed she was, Rosemi Lovelock in a now-deleted post saying “Well I think you guys already know how disappointed I am”. Other livers like Vox Akuma, Mysta Rias, and Ike Eveland seemed to know more behind the scenes, as they mocked they seemingly mocked the company’s reason for canceling the concert being related to Covid.

It is perplexing why Nijisanji decided to outright cancel the event instead of postpone it, and it’s sad to see the work put in by the many members of the production, and Nijisanji Livers basically being tossed due to other reasons.

However, this isn’t the first time the company’s wording of “canceled” was misleading, as previously canceled events returned at a later date, so it’s more accurate to say “Indefinitely postponed”, though that wouldn’t obligate the company to hand out refunds.

About Nijisanji

Nijisanji is a VTuber agency handled and owned by AnyColor Inc. The group primarily used Live2D models to promote their talents as opposed to streaming in 3D which was the norm for the rising VTubers at the time including Kizuna Ai.

Nijisanji has several members within its agency with a diverse cast of characters, with several waves in different languages such as English, Indonesian, Korean, Indian, and more. The agency has something of a reputation for hiring too many Vtubers, as many of its talents end up graduating or retiring due to poor viewership and lack of support.
