The television anime adaptation of Subaruichi’s The Legendary Hero Is Dead! comedy manga finally gets a premiere date on April 6, 2023! Along with the announcement, additional cast members, the opening theme song, the second trailer, and the third key visual have been revealed.
Additional cast members include Wataru Hatano as adventurer Belarco, whom Touka and his friends meet during their journey; Kenichi Ono as the necromancer Friedrich Norstein, who is obsessed with human revenge; Takashi Aoki as Isaac Gardner, Margarite’s overprotective educational supervisor; and Chikahiro Kobayashi as Leland Tallman, the seemingly kindhearted director of an orphanage.
Furthermore, Shintaro Asanuma takes the role of Diego Valentine, a necromancer who is Friedrich’s partner and can control demons; Sayaka Ohara takes the role of Esel Borgnine, a busty thief who aims to assassinate the hero; and Hiroki Tōchi takes the role of Fieri Eunice, the father of Yuna and Milly who is obsessed with big breasts.
The unveiled trailer features a preview of the opening theme song “Dead!” (死んだ!) by Masayoshi Oishi, while the third key visual includes Esel Borgnine alongside the main characters, evoking the grand adventure that awaits them.
In celebration of February 28, which is known as “Knee High Socks Day” in Japan, a special visual of Esel Borgnine with a displeased expression wearing a white shirt and knee-high socks has also been released.
