Reverse Collapse: Code Name Bakery, the latest adventure strategy RPG by Sunborn, the creators of Girls’ Frontline, announced that the game is having an Exclusive Beta Test on March 10!
While the game is coming to PC, mobile, and Switch, this beta is only playable on PC. You can signup for the beta test by filling out the Beta Test submission form here, and the beta test will be open from March 10 to March 14. The form also asks you to join the game’s official discord server beforehand, and if the link ever expires you can check back on the game’s Twitter account for the latest link.
Once you’ve filled out the form, you will be sent an email if you are eligible for the test, and only 1,000 lucky players will have a chance to try the game early. Note that since this is an exclusive test, players are advised to not upload any screenshots or photos from this test to social media.
Reverse Collapse: Code Name Bakery is scheduled for release in 2023.
▍Reverse Collapse: Code Name Bakery World View
Reverse Collapse: Code Name Bakery is a strategy RPG and a remake of Codename: Bakery Girl originally released in 2013 by Sunborn then named MICA Team.
The game takes place in an alternate universe where World War three has already happened. In 2092 the First Antarctic War begins, dubbed by many as the second cold war.
The game follows a young girl called Jefuty, an incredibly powerful girl with white hair that can seemingly move at superhuman speeds and hearing. During the war captain, Carl Mintfield of the URNC gets ambushed and is struck in the head after being blown away by a rocket. When he comes to he is saved by Jefuty, but loses his memory and forgets his original mission. The pair team up as they move, avoiding and fighting enemy troops.
While it precedes Girls’ Frontline in terms of its release date, the game is the sequel to Girls’ Frontline, and several of its story elements serve as the foundation for GFL.
▍Reverse Collapse: Code Name Bakery Gameplay
As a remake of the original title, Reverse Collapse is also a turn-based tactical RPG played on a square grid.
You will maneuver your forces across the battlefield, expending their action points to move, gather supplies, craft traps, and turrets, and attack enemies. The game has a heavy emphasis on field mechanics and terrain warfare, as you can take advantage of cover to confuse your enemies, picking them off or waiting until they wear themselves thin before you strike.
The game features updated visuals and effects, while also having a new backtrack system to let story events diverge, and greatly expanding on the number of levels, as opposed to the original’s 12 stages.
