Lackgirl Project announced that it is releasing its first game in the Lackgirl series, Lackgirl I: Astra inclinant, sed non obligant, for PC via Steam, Fanza, and DLsite on March 31. The game will support Japanese, English, Thai, Traditional, and Simplified Chinese language-text option.
The Lackgirl series was created by Benio, an artist well-known for creating illustrations for the light novel series “I’ve Been Killing Slimes For 300 Years And Maxed Out My Level,” and “Is it tough being a friend?” The project started in 2015 and, with the help of many creators and fans, has been able to raise funds through crowdfunding to reach its final stage.
The project started as a collection of fictional game settings. Now, this version of Lackgirl is a reconstructed version of the entire world and character settings that will be presented in a three-part visual novel series. The first installment is the beginning of this magical adventure.
Lackgirl is set in the world of Iris, a boarding school where students learn about magic. The girls gathered at the school all have mental illnesses. The protagonist, Satsuki, suddenly gains the ability to use magic and is forced to enroll in the school. She and the other girls become embroiled in an incident that leads them to discover a hidden existence.
The game’s scenario is written by Ryoichi Watanabe, and the music is composed by Ham and Taishi. The game’s movie sequences are created by Silve, and the background illustrations are done by Haguruma Rapt. The UI design is by 91kido, and the program is developed by Keikoto. Kaskabeshishio is credited as the director.
