Kemco announced that the console version of The Witch of the Ihanashi would be released on April 28 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch in Japan.
Originally developed as an indie game by doujin developers Fragaria and released on the PC via Steam on August 2022, the console version of the visual novel title will be available at JPY$2,860 (tax included) with a launch celebration 10% discount for all console storefronts. The Witch of the Ihanashi is also available on PC via Steam.
In addition to the game setting materials newly implemented on the Steam release, the console version of The Witch of the Ihanashi will also include a special digital artbook that features concept art for the game that was previously exclusive to the physical PC release.
A separate digital book viewer will be available in-game to feature the short story included in the “Append” booklet, which was exclusively distributed at Comic Market 101 in Japan.

The Witch of the Ihanashi follows the story of Hikaru, a boy who had lost both parents at a young age. During the spring of his first year of high school, his aunt sends him away to live at his grandfather’s place in Okinawa. The one-person ferry ride took him to Toyajishima, an isolated island in the island prefecture, with a population a few short of 1,000 people.
Upon visiting his grandfather’s home, Hikaru discovers that his supposed guardian has moved overseas. Reaching out to his aunt, gives him no solace, as she is never heard from. Ultimately left asking at the high school he is supposed to have transferred to, and he was told that there was no student by his name enrolled.
Distraught and cast away by his aunt’s family, Hikaru eventually makes the acquaintance of a strange girl named Lilun while wandering the sugarcane fields at night. Hikaru is a former first-year high school student with no means to fend for himself, while Lilun does not seem to have a sense of Japanese normalcy.
As the days go by, the two learn more about each other and the island they live on. From the mysterious secrets and customs of the island to Lilun’s otherworldly powers, a boy-meets-girl story with a bizarre twist unfolds.
