NIS America is bringing the JRPG Monochrome Mobius: Rights and Wrongs Forgotten to the West with a confirmed release date for PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 on September 5 in North America, and September 8 in Europe and Oceania. A new gameplay trailer was also revealed offering an intriguing glimpse into the fantasy world of Monochrome Mobius.
First released for PS4 and PS5 in Japan on November 17, 2022, as well as PC worldwide, Monochrome Mobius: Rights and Wrongs is the latest installment of the Utawarerumono series. The story follows young fighter Oshtor, who lives a quiet life with his mother and younger sister. However, his once-familiar world is shattered when he meets a mysterious young girl named Shunya claiming his deceased father is still alive. Shunya’s actions continue to create more questions: Who is she? Where did she come from? Join Oshtor on his journey to discover the truth about his father and uncover the mysteries surrounding this enigmatic young lady.
Combats in Monochrome Mobius: Rights and Wrongs are turn-based, with the action break determining the order of play. Players can attack enemies, use the Zeal gauge to accelerate turn orders and activate “over a seal” to ascend into the inner ring.
Strategic attacks on staggered enemies can provide an advantage in battle and a spot in the inner ring. The game also introduces a unique gameplay element, the character Halu. Players can charge up a photon dynamo to summon Halu in place of an ally, enabling powerful and devastating attacks.
