Ayaka is an anime series about Yukito Yanagi, a boy raised in a children’s home on the Japanese mainland until Jingi Sagawa, a man who claims to be the disciple of Yukito’s great-father comes and takes him to his birthplace, a series of islands known as Ayakashima, inhabited by mysterious creatures called Mitama, and where the land spells legends of Dragons of fire and water.
Yukito begins living with the three disciples of his father, and while one of the disciples lives in relative peace as a hermit by maintaining the islands’ peace and prosperity, the other two are often at odds with each other, and thus the island’s peace begins to fracture, and Yukito learns a dark secret.
