I don’t know you, but I’ll never get used to the weird worldview settings of the Japanese games. This time, we have a Sengoku A Live, a mobile rhythm game that centers on a bunch of ikemen Sengoku warlord, who aims to unify the world with the power of music.
Out now today in Japan for mobile devices, Sengoku A Live begins with the warlords of the Sengoku period suddenly appearing in present-day Shibuya due to a mysterious error code. Realizing that swords and blades are forbidden in modern times, they come to a weird conclusion to use music as their weapon to unite the country.
And as with all otome games, Sengoku A Live features a bunch of ikemen warlords and a star-studded voice cast lineup, including but not limited to Ryo Kitamura as Kenshin Uesugi; Toshiki Masuda as Nobunaga Oda; KENN as Mitsunari Ishida; Yuma Uchida as Yukimura Sanada; and stage actor Ryoutarou Akazawa as Fuma Kotaro.
The warlords have already released a number of original songs and covered pop songs such as “Linda Linda”, “DESIRE-Jonetsu-“, “Sailor Suit and Machine Gun” and “La La La Love Song”, and all of these songs will be playable in the smartphones games. If you’re interested in how they perform, you can always check the official Youtube channel for a short preview.
Gameplay-wise, Sengoku A Live is pretty much like any other rhythm game in the mobile gaming industry; You take your ikemen warlocks to the Live session and you tap the note according to rhythms for a successful performance. A good performance helps warlords to earn more fans, which also means assisting them in becoming the top singers.
And of course, there are plenty of contents such as side stories where you can take a peek at the incidents that happened behind the scenes and profile stories where you can learn an unexpected side of the warlords. The game also has a Room feature, which allows you to collect the adorable goods/ merch of the warlords.
In celebration of the game launch, new players will receive 3,000 Jewels (in-game currency) as rewards. You can also obtain one of the 12 warlord dolls randomly so that you can start decorating your Room at Sengoku A Live. A login bonus campaign will also run until August 1 as you can receive up to 1,000 Jewels and a bunch of items to strengthen your warlords.
