Eastasiasoft is bringing Mugen Souls Z, the sequel to the cult favorite JRPG, Mugen Souls, to Nintendo Switch. The game is slated to arrive on the Nintendo eShop in North America, Europe, and Hong Kong in September 2023. Pre-orders for physical editions are set to open on June 22 through Playasia.
Mugen Souls Z is a vibrant, anime-style JRPG that features multiple open worlds to explore, extensive character customization, and strategic turn-based combat on free-roaming battle maps. Originally developed by Idea Factory in collaboration with Compile Heart, the game initially launched for PlayStation 3 on April 25, 2013 in Japan, followed by a worldwide release on May 20, 2014, and a PC release via Steam on August 25, 2016.
The forthcoming Nintendo Switch version boasts all previous extras and original Japanese content. These include hot springs mini-games and additional CG gallery images. It also offers full English language support for both text and audio.
Players can expect to explore twelve vibrant worlds and combat an ancient threat. Also recruit monsters to their cause, execute spectacular combos with their allies, and create unique peons through a blend of customization options involving body parts, faces, and job classes.
Physical Limited Editions of the game will comprise the game itself, a manual, a 2-disc soundtrack, sticker sheets, an art book, and a numbered certificate, all packaged within a collector’s box. Standard copies will also be available as open pre-orders.
