Spice and Wolf is over 17 years old now, and if you can even believe it the original anime series aired over 15 years ago on January 9, 2008. Now the Spice and Wolf series is back after all that time, with a new anime series!
The anime also released its first preview trailer showing off the new animation from studio Pasione, and briefly previews Holo’s voice, who is none other than Ami Koshimizu, returning for the role of this iconic character alongside Jun Fukuyama as Kraft Lawrence!
This anime series also looks to be a reboot of the original anime series, retelling the story from its first season with brand new animations, and voice work from the pair.
The anime series is scheduled to debut in 2024.

▍About Spice and Wolf
Spice and Wolf is a light novel series written by Isuna Hasekura with illustrations by Jyuu Ayakura. The light novel series has had 24 volumes since its original run beginning on February 10, 2006, and is still currently ongoing. The series has been adapted into multiple games, an anime series with 2 seasons, a spin-off novel, and VR games, and now has a reboot anime series coming in 2024.
The series follows Kraft Lawrence, a young traveling merchant who peddles goods from town to town in a fantasy world set in an alternate-history European world. All Lawrence wants to do is scrape up enough money to open his shop, a goal he’s been working towards for the last seven years. One night when traveling to a town, he finds in his wagon a young naked girl with wolf ears and a tail. She introduces herself as Holo, the goddess of harvest for the town.
She said she grew disillusioned with how the town has since treated her and wants to return to her old hometown and travel the world to see how it has changed. Together the pair travel the world, and while her wisdom helps Lawrence reap great profits, her form and appearance draw the attention of the Church…
